Today's Recipe - Cranberry Nut Bread

Recipe: Ingredients: 2 c. sifted all purpose flour 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. butter flavored Crisco 1 tsp. grated orange peel (fresh or dehydrated) 3/4 c. orange juice 1 well-beaten egg 1 c. fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped 1/2 to 3/4 c. nuts (walnuts and/or pecans) DIRECTIONS: Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Combine orange peel, juice and egg then add to dry ingredients and mix just enough to thoroughly moisten. Then fold in berries and nuts together. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Good served with softened cream cheese.
