Today's Recipe - Brown Sugar Pound Cake

Recipe: Ingredients:
1 lb. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening, part butter
5 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts or pecans (opt.)
DIRECTIONS:
Cream together brown sugar, white sugar and shortening. Add remaining ingredients. Sift baking powder with flour. If using cake flour, use 3 cups plus 6 tablespoons. Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
