Today's Recipe - Apple Bar Cookies

Recipe: Ingredients:
1/2 c. butter
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg, unbeaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. chopped raw apple
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. milk
VANILLA GLAZE:
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. milk
Put first 6 ingredients together and beat until smooth. Sift flour with soda. Add to first mixture and blend. Stir in fruit, nuts and milk. Mix together ingredients for vanilla glaze. While hot, spread with vanilla glaze.
