Today's Recipe - Apple Crumb Pie

Recipe: Ingredients:
4 lg. tart apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
1/2 c. additional sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter
DIRECTIONS:
Pare apples, cut into eighths and arrange in pie shell. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon. Sift other 1/2 cup sugar with flour. Cut in butter until crumbly and sprinkle this over apples, too. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 10 minutes. Turn down oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. (Can also be made with peaches).
